Second chance: Chishti gets three-month extension

ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Ali Asghar Chishti has been given a three-month extension, the second since his appointment. The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training issued a notification while a summary for appointing a permanent head of the varsity is lying with the presidency for approval. Chishti is also the dean of the AIOU Arabic and Islamic Studies Faculty and was appointed acting vice-chancellor in March. According to the notification, he will continue as acting vice-chancellor for three more months or till the appointment of a regular head.
