
Eight officers of the food department were dismissed by food minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar on Tuesday.
An official of the department said that six food inspectors, Muhammad Yousuf Arain, Nazar Ali Jakhrani, Rajhan Malik, Abdul Ghaffar Kalhwar, Abdul Hatah Sarki and Shabbir Ahmed Malik and two assistant food controllers, Aqil Jat and Syed Manzoor Shah, have been dismissed on charges of corruption. Their cases have been referred to the National Accountability Bureau for the recovery of the embezzled funds worth millions of rupees.
