The incident took place at Dr Mubashir Khoso’s clinic in Malhi colony.
According to Mehran police station's SHO Lutuf Ali Laghari, two suspects on a motorcycle attacked Khoso at his homeopathic clinic. The suspects escaped after shooting him dead.
Laghari said the slain doctor sustained three gunshots to his chest and died on the spot. The police also collected three bullet shells from the spot.
Khoso has been practicing in Mirpurkhas since the past 15 years. He was living with his family in the Satellite Town residential area. His body was shifted to Rubwa, near Faisalabad for burial.
The police have not yet lodged an FIR as they are awaiting the family's return and postmortem report. The SHO claimed the family has so far not named any specific suspect's involvement during initial investigation.
This is the second murder of an Ahmedi doctor in Mirpurkhas in the last six years.
In 2008, Dr Manan Siddiqi was shot dead. His killers are still at large.

@Syed Ahmad:
"To save Jinnah’s Pakistan from mullahs, entire Madrassa infrastructure must be dismantled, religious parties banned, educational institutes liberalized and the country be declared secular. Nothing less than Kamal Attaturk strategy will work. Maududi’s vision is destroying the fabric of our nation."
No need to worry. Jinnah's Pakistan is alive and kicking. Didn't Jinnah sell the divisive ideology of "we are different from you" and so we can't live with you to the Muslims of India? why blame the mullahs and Maududi?
As for Ataturk, he didn't want Turkey to be an Islamic state. Pakistan has been created in the name of Islam and cast in stone as an Islamic state. This is a one-way street and can't be reversed.
The name in which these Mullahs are carrying out such acts is the name of Islam, which the word itself means peace. This is not only killing innocent lives but is a dark spot on the image of Islam represented in front of the world. It is sad to see Pakistan turn into a place where religion is used to justify such horrendous acts while the government easily looks the other way and in most cases encourages it.
Pakistan on the verge of implosion because of the 2nd amendment. It should be repealed to resore peace in society, otherwise Pakistan remains a sectarian sty, and go worse
Pakistan's law fails once again. I don't even know if it's fair to say whether there is a law to begin with or not. It hurts to see Pakistan going in the exact opposite direction of what it's founder wanted as it's becoming home to religious extremists and not home to secularism.
Pakistan's majority boast to be muslims but their deeds contradict their words. The doctor who was serving humanity is killed just because he according to the constitution of Pakistan was not a muslim. Can the killers justify their act according to the peaceful religion of Islam?
I would like to say so otherwise, crazy people in an innocent society. @sedemir:
The situation prevalent in Pakistan today totally contradicts Quad e Azam's vision of Pakistan. He was very clear about the role of State and Religion: "You may belong to any religion or caste or creed - that has nothing to do with the business of the state." Until and unless State stops to interfere with religion of its citizens, we can not stop the persecution of minorities.
The height of barbarity. What could they possibly gain from killing those who are working for the sake and welfare of humanity? Just goes to show how far the human species has fallen. The very concept of being a 'human' is being defied!
Societies of Pakistan are built with the bricks of Mullahism. They teach people that ultimate legislative authority not in the hands of God but in the hands of some school of clergy. So the consequences are horrendous as this murder . As Allah says if you would kill somebody you would kill the whole mankind .
Crazy people in crazy society
Unless strict laws are not imposed to stop spread of hate material and to take severe punitive actions againt those behind these brutal and inhuman acts, Persecution of Ahmadis is not going to end in this country. Unfortunately hatemongers are continuously thriving and inciting people against others sects, and all is taking place under the nose of the people at the helm of affairs. It is alarming to see the sheer hesitation of our people in authority to take action, rather they themselves appear to be afraid of speaking against perpetrators. It is really appalling situation!
This is due to the polarization of the society. We have stopped respecting each other religion, thoughts or beliefs. Go Nawaz Go!
@Indian. Thousands died during partition. The main reason was due to total insecurity of the people moving and leaving behind all their belongings on both sides. Can you imagine being in that situation. They were all NORMAL people. They were caught up in a political web. As normal people we could have lived with each other wherever. Please note that you only require ONE fanatic to fuel the fire and MOB rule will take place and even if you are caught up within the frenzy, you will also become one of the mob. Please stop blaming COMMUNITIES, we all require to take the blame for the lives that were lost during partition. And this is not the forum to discuss the topic. By the way, I am also an Indian.
ahmadis are getting what they deserve . they were in the forefront in killing hindus during partition and afterwards . now they are getting the taste of their own medicine.
Religion of peace strikes again.
@ali: But Ahmadis also get killed amongst those other people. On top of that they are killed for being Ahmadis, the result of mullas and attitude of people like you.
Seventh straight year of good governance, claimed by PMLN, endorsed by PMLN, and publicized by PMLN.
@Dr. Shaikh As ever Mullahs will stay silent but will use all means they could to protects terrorists.
The killing one innocent person is like the killing of whole humanity said the Rahmat-lil-Alameen (saw). However, these killers are not following these golden words.
To save Jinnah's Pakistan from mullahs, entire Madrassa infrastructure must be dismantled, religious parties banned, educational institutes liberalized and the country be declared secular. Nothing less than Kamal Attaturk strategy will work. Maududi's vision is destroying the fabric of our nation.
why are they treated as VVIPs in Pakistan everyday many people are getting killed, mostly extra-judicially with shameful silence of media and HR organizations
As long as security agencies are not stopping data collecting on sects, this killing will never stop because such information are updated and circulated in lower staff with determination and the iman masjid is used to instigate. With this behaviour killers get encouraged.
These killings won't stop until there is a fatwa against them, Which is impossible. Law and justice is a joke in Pakistan otherwise.
Another innocent victim of sectarian killing. An ultimate result of fanaticism, extremism and fascism – venom that has been and is being propagated in the minds of ignorant Pakistanis on the name of Islam by the governments of Pakistan and so called religious leadership. May Allah reward them accordingly.
Why people hate Ahmadis .. they are harmless people.
A doctor from a persecuted community can easily take refuge in most developed western countries and live a fantastic life but this doctor chose to live and serve his country and got punished for that..
Bilawal Zardari....do you have anything to say other than photo sessions in Punjab?
Sad to see no law enforcement in Pakistan, even I totally don't agree with Qadianism and Ahmedism!
Need strict laws to protect our minorities. I dont know what kind of heaven these animals are earning from killing innocent people.
