Radio lessons: Training session for schoolteachers under way



A three-day training session for teachers of the capital’s schools was launched on Monday.


According to a press release, “Broad Class---Listen to Learn” is an interactive radio instruction programme wherein 850 teachers working under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will be trained.


The training would help instructors in implementation of the programme in classrooms through radio lessons. The programme will benefit more than 1,100 heads and teachers, approximately 39,000 children and 6,900 members of parent teachers associations and community members.


The project is funded by Ilm Ideas programme of DAI Europe. The content covers basic skills of the national curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, English and life skills. The audio lessons will aim guide teachers and students through activities, games, and exercises that teach carefully organised knowledge and skills.
