KARACHI: The Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat seems to be enjoying a good time at the Pakistani box office as it collected Rs30 million in three days.

According to owner of IMGC Entertainment, Amjad Rasheed, “No Pakistani film has ever made Rs1 crore on a non-holiday weekday, and this is the first time this has ever happened.”

Waar which had similar earnings for its first initial days was released on the Eidul Azha weekend of 2013.

The film which marks the Bollywood debut of Pakistani television star, Fawad Khan was released on 46 screens across Pakistan. The movie had already created a lot of buzz before its release due to Humsafar heartthrob’s star power in the country.

In an previous report by The Express Tribune, Khoobsurat had comprehensively beaten the Yash Raj Films produced Daawat-e-Ishq in advanced bookings in cinemas in Pakistan. Cinema owners in the country have reported that the comedy film jointly produced by Disney India and Anil Kapoor Films Company has had such high demand that they had to increase the number of shows per day from the initially decided three shows per day to the current seven to eight shows a day.

Several exhibitors have also started screening the film in the newly introduced time slot of 1am which ends between 3 to 4am.

Despite the tremendous start in Pakistan both the films have gotten off to an average start at the Indian box office with Aditya Roy Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer, Daawat-e-Ishq performing slightly better.

With no major releases lined up in the next few days and with no stiff competition to counter, Khoobsurat is expected to continue performing well in the coming weeks.

It appears that clearly there are some people in India that believe that Fawad Khan has passed Ali Zafar (which includes you and Tarinha) and that is absolutely fine. That still does not contradict most of what I said.

@Gp65 - There are more than ONE serial that we are watching in India and many household have Fawad parties where group gather to swoon every time his image appears and we all agree there are no bad angles to this gorgeous man! Unlike Ali Zafar he does NOT need a prop to display his acting talents and Ali Zafar has made at least 3 movies and no one even remembers them! Also he has NOT acted in your Pakistani films yet, is it he is afraid to be challenged? Fawad has payed his dues in Pakistani films & we here they were successful, we have bootleg copies of "Humsaafar" & his acting talents proves Pakistan should be proud of this young man as young and old are enchanted by him
