The lawmaker, requesting anonymity, told The Express Tribune National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq asked PTI lawmakers to appear before him on Tuesday and verify signatures on their resignation letters.
“Things will be made clear as MNAs will meet the speaker one on one.” While a majority of the party MNAs submitted their resignations, some, including Gulzar Khan, Musarrat Ahmedzeb and Nasir Khattak, refused to do the same.
PTI leaders demand intra-party polls
A founding member of PTI, Akbar Babar said Imran Khan needs to take a look at the recent intra-party polls instead of demanding transparent elections in the country. He said the party elections were “nothing more than a farce”. He told The Express Tribune party tickets were sold just like fish in a market.
Some founding members met with disgruntled party lawmakers to discuss the ongoing situation. Babar said the meeting will discuss ways to release the party from the clutches of those who “hijacked it”. “It has become a one-man show and the party constitution does not allow that.”

@PakSal: What welfare. He is twice subverted Pakistan and its Constitution and is still engaged in covert subversion. It is his politics that is saving him from the gallows.
Gradually Imran Khan is loosing his inner support just because of overmuch and excessive harsh and aggressive attitude and as usual baseless and sans solid evidences old blame game against the some key government's officials and ministers.Imran Khan must has to change his harsh and aggressive attitude and end baseless old blame game so that his success could be seen visible instead of failure and defeat so that in case of failure and defeat Imran Khan could save himself from political death....
@MaharajUSA: So someone else also other than great IK thinking about the welfare of Pakistan and its people including all of you. You should be grateful atleast.
@syed:IK is conspiring to demolish Pakistan along with a Foreign -Canadian national, hence IK is a conspirator to derail the system
@Mohammed:: Why cry for democratic party. After Nawaz Shareef no ML N, After Zardari no PPP, after Imaran K, no PTI, TQ is a foreign national even then his party is TQ. Remove these heads there will be no party left
@ObserverUSA: The London meeting was for coordination. Actually, the plot, the script writer is in Pakistan. He is none else than the good old Musharraf.
@To ALL PTI - You have to UNDERSTAND this sooner or later, NS is NOT GOING any where and the next elections will happen in 2018. Either get your act together and prove yourself in KPK or get ready to be totally dominated again. You are giving way too much to PMLN for negative campaigning in 2018. You are telling PUNJAB that their vote and choice does not matter and your choices should be shoved down the throat of punjabies.
Akbar Babar is not a PTI leader but a member of Sherpao group. ET should not have done biased reporting.
Great. This will help IK in identifying the people who are really with him for the greater good.
Happy Life for himself(MNAs), what about us???? IK fighting for common people.
These MNAs should be fired from the party in this case.
PTI is on it's way to a full circle. Eventually Imran will be the only one in the party - may or may not keep Mianwaali seat.
@JAVAID Ahmed KHAN: That is not true. They lose the seats only if they vote against the parliamentary party in case of a finance bill or no confidence. This is neither.
By the way , I hope you see the contradiction in the stance that the NA elections were rigged in KPK so we won't be part of the assembly but the PA elections were fine in KPK so we will continue ruling KPK.
PML-N, PPP, MQM and many others had their chance to fix and developed this country but we get nothing more then 70,000Rs plus loan on every individual of Pakistan, now its time for a change... means power of comman people... do something meaningful rather then begin a part of this corrupt system, writing blaming comments and laughing on each-other. Get up do work and build Pakistan.
@Faisal Bukhari: NS "elected by people of Pak" ... LOL KP kee performance millions of dollar worth rapid transit system kay jaisi nahi hay ... policy changes are like sewn seeds, takes time for a tree to grow and once grown it gives shade and fruits for a long long time.
It will required further more down the road for the PTI to get discipline Like MQM and IK not have to imitate Bhai like attitude with their MNAs, as it is not at all easy to get forcefull resignation from person enjoying happy life.
PTI & IK are handful group of confused and power hungry people. They wont make any difference(example is KPK). Atleast NS Govt(elected by people of pak) is doing better at many fronts so humble request to IK and all PTI trolls to let them work.
@Qureshi: You can lol some more. But fact of the matter is that PTI has joined with MQM, JI and the Canadian Mullah to strengthen and extend Army rule over democracy. You can lol all you want, but a majority of Pakistanis do understand this. Army rule is NOT the alternative to political dynasties. Army rule is NOT the change; it is indeed the status quo, that has thrown Pakistan into an abyss. For all our woes, military rulers are equally responsible as the dynastic politicians, if not more.
Despite dirty language being used by IK against ever politician, nobody raised the issue of Sita White. At least some credit must be given to our conventional politicians.
According to the constitution the 3 members of PTI who did not follow the advise of the Charman in resigning from their National assembly seats automatically looses their seats in National Assembly. This clause was included in the constitution after 18th ammendements in order to prevent horse trading. These members won the seats because of Imran Khan and they have no right to represent PTI.
@Zaida: PTI is a Joke; This statement of yours is the biggest Joke of 2014.Hundred and thousands of people who attended Karachi Jalsa yesterday by your standers are also jokers!
First you (Media) said they will not resign now you are saying they will say it was forced resign. I think 18th Amendment has given a lot of powers to the Party heads already. No?
@Zaida: Oh really, very interesting information ;). One should think before speak :D.
@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: So advise Dr. Qadri and IK to reveal the conspiracy they hatched in London and not lie about it.
Akber baber was thrown out of the party long time ago so instead of calling himself an ex ptian, he should at least have his own name rather linking himself to pti.
Those who win an election on a ticket by a political party are ethically bound to abide by the rules of that party,if they do not agree, they should resign and recon test the elections.these antics of the past ,jumping from one party to the other should be stopped.if you have issues with party policy resign!Choose another party which matches your idealogy.
@H Chaudhry: Sir IK has challenged you that bring a crowd in Peshawar and demand resignation/re-election and I will do that exactly....instead of accepting the offer, you have put a resoulution in the assembly to prevent Chief minister from dessolving the assembly. PMLN can not influnece the KP and rigg the election.
@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: As if MNAs of PTI are listening to you!!! Hahaha!
PTI is a complete joke and is now conspiring to break Pakistan. Long live MQM and PPP.
@javed: Maybe someone needs to do a Dharna at Imran Khan's PTI headquarters to make him resign. He is so quick to use foul language, destabilize the country and be a sore loser. It's time he gets a taste of his own medicine! It's time PTI trolls see their party for the joke it is!
Just check out all the stories of the reporter Umar Farooq, it is his wish to see destroyed PTI and thats why he brings fake stories but again and again his wishes go to the dust bin. Bechara.
@lol: Why you think javed Hashmi backstabbed you. He simply is the whistle-blower of the army, pti, pat and sheikh Rasheed nexus. Anyone who stands against IK 's dictatorial attitude becomes ghaddar
@H Chaudhry: lol, I never mentioned PMLN even once.
@Zaida: Open your eyes if you have, Nawaz and likes have been taking you for a ride and you can't differentiate good vs evil. Pity.
PTI accepted career politicians, Pir, feudal, and lota in their party with open arms before elections. Most of these people are with the power and PTI does not have power except KPK. That is why these professional politicians are having second thoughts but those in KPK assembly are already in power so they are not leaving. While PTI and IK are out on the streets for a few more NA seats, why should already elected MNA resign? They doubt they would ever be elected again on PTI ticket. People would see with the passage of time that the only resignation was from Hashmi and that is why there would be by-polls. Hashmi knows that he would be elected on his own again.
To my profound understanding and utter belief Muslims are forbidden to tell lies or twist facts and therefore all those MNAs of PTI which are at odds with Imran at this point of time must prove to be true Muslims and should not be influenced by Imran's foes whereby they try to dampen his efforts to bring revolution in the country unless we are our own enemy. Be honest and dead honest I advise. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
They should ask Javed Hashmi to lead them and make PTI (H)
PTI is a joke and its leader is the most clueless leader any political party has seen !!
Indeed it is a one man show - i would've stopped supporting PTI if Imran wasn't leading it. As for this so called founding member, i guess for him party ticket was more important than anything else, he should better look up to people like umar cheema who has stood beside PTI no matter what, he's a true ideological party member. so instead of talking to those MNA, who backstabbed our cause, to malign Khan, he should rather think about what common Pakistanis want. I'm not a PTI worker but i do support Imran for all his honesty & leadership, & there are hundreds and thousands like me who want change & who will never forgive people like Hashmi for backstabbing us Pakistanis who are sick of shamed democracy.
Such unity within PTI :) such perfection in intra-party election! About time PTI supporters wake-up and see what has happened in the country in the past 30 something days and assess the strategy in terms of goals, targets and in light of possibility of achievement the losses and consequence of this movement.
What difference does it make? Wasn't Rana Sanaullah forced to resign because Shahbaz Sharif didn't want to?
ET, its an old story, if I remember correctly, Imran already made a statement that these three will be expelled from the party.
@javed so forcing your MNA's to resign in NA but not taking resignations from KP assembly is some how fault of PMLN? Is there any thing in Imran life that is not fault of PMLN? grow up please and stop pointing finger all the time.
With all the respect for Akbar babar sb, he is as non active with PTI and is my affair with Megan fox. Akbar Babar sb did not contest intra party polls by the way and his house is more of a dera for all the fatty elements of PTI who were cut out on performance. His access is to all the people who lost intra party polls or were asked to make way for talented individuals. He hasnt ever heard from people who have won intra party polls to tell him stories of the merits involved.
lol Another failed try to bring PTI down.I wonder how can people be so cheap that they can damage the reputation of the party for a single damned seat of ''The Royal Debating Club'' Mark my words if in anycase IK fails, the likes of javed hashmi and akbar babar will be rewarded with ministries for saving this corrupt system and this hypocrisy otherwise known as democracy ET publish it please.if you did not,you will actually violate Journalism ethics
@javed: Walk up, brother. PTI is the status quo. Old wine with new label.
These guys need to join a party which will cater for their greed, they need to leave the party IK and other people that want change. PTI is IK and if they don't like it they can get lost.
“It has become a one-man show and the party constitution does not allow that.”
Who is that one-man controlling the show? Is it Tahir Ul Qadri?
@javed not true, in fact ik in an interview before these dharnas admitted himself that there were a lot of irregularities in inter party elections. So at least one poi t these guys have made is valid.
Sounds like one baadshaahat is being removed by another. They are all the same!!
Status quo trying it's hardest to destroy PTI.
