Petition filed against judicial commission

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi District Bar Association has challenged the establishment of the judicial commission in the Supreme Court under the 18th amendment on Monday.

The petition was filed by Ikram Chaudhry. It said that the formation of the judicial commission is against the constitution.

The petitioner said that the current parliament can not change the basic structure of the constitution and that it stands to be violated through this legislation.

The petition has been filed in the registrar office of the Supreme Court.

It's hearing date has not been announced yet.
