Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has warned that he would not let the government run its affairs properly if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif does not resign.
“Nawaz Sharif, if you do not resign, then each passing day, it will be more difficult for you to run the affairs of government,” he said in a speech delivered at the D-Chowk on Thursday.
Imran’s warning came a day before his scheduled another big show at the Constitution Avenue on Friday.
Imran said the PTI team had made it clear to the political jirga that they would no longer talk to the government.
“This is because you are carrying out talks and at the same time arresting our workers and subjecting them to violence,” he said, addressing the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He reiterated his stance that he would continue his sit-in for the rights of people even for one year and that it did not matter whether he became the prime minister or not.
The PTI chief also lashed out at lawmakers, who made speeches against the sit-ins at the joint session of parliament. He said selective sections of the Constitution were being used there in favour of the argument that the resignation of PM would be unconstitutional.
“Why did parliament not look at the Articles of the Constitution asking for provision of education and health facilities to the masses?” he asked.
While appealing to his supporters to turn out in record numbers at the sit-in today, Imran Khan criticised the government for closing schools in the capital as these are being used for the stay of police personnel deputed at the sit-ins.
“We have to show them that the Pakistani nation has awakened and we will hold a historic sit-in today (Friday),” he charged his supporters.

"Azadi March: We won’t allow govt to run, says Imran" +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hollow claim. The Govt. in any case does not run...it merely crawls Azadi March or Azadi April.
There are 1 million IDPs in one part of the country, there are a half a million affected by floods, polio is getting worse, the country with maximum number of out of school children is Pakistan(yes despite 6 times the population, India has fewer out of school kids) and Imran wants to bring the ability of government to govern to a halt. Oh and before I forget, the load shedding is increasing because people do not pay bills and Imran encourages this further? True patriot this!
