
A passerby was killed and two others injured while attempting to overpower robbers fleeing from a shop in Saddar, Rawalpindi, said a media report on Monday.
Three armed robbers broke into Mughal Electric and Machinery in broad daylight on Sunday and held the owner hostage.
They held the shop owner hostage and looted Rs500,000 cash and mobile phone.
The robbers were fleeing on their motorcycle when some passersby attempted to overpower them.
The robbers shot three people and fled before the police arrived.
The injured were taken to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital where one of them, identified as Akhtar, was pronounced dead.
The identities of the two injured men were not released, but both are in stable condition, the police said.
The police registered a case but no arrests or recoveries had been made till the filing of this report.
