Sources have told The Express Tribune that Butt was arrested on the charge of "inciting violence in the city of Islamabad" after midnight on Thursday.
Butt first met PTI chief Imran Khan in 2011. Since then, he has been with the party and plays music at many of their sit-ins.
The tweet claimed that the Sharif brothers unnecessarily had him arrested for doing his job.

Since the start of the Islamabad sit-ins, PTI leaders have accused Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz government of arresting PTI supporters to prevent them from attending the protest in the federal capital.

Before throwing a musician into Jail how about doing some justice and:
Arresting the PML-N's MPA sons who gang raped a girl in Punjab recently and are still roaming free. Arresting the PM Nawaz for fooling the public by setting up fake flood reliefs camps which have already been caught by local media. Arresting PML-N Law minister of Punjab Rana Mashood for openly asking for bribe which has also been caught on camera. Arresting the killers of Model town protestors that include unarmed women these killers are still roaming free. (Shahbaz Sharif, Head of Punjab Police, Rana Sanaullah) Opening a case against Punjab Police for not registering a police report and FIR against model town killers intentionally. and hundereds thousands of other untouched justified legitimate cases...save democracy, arrest gullo butt, I mean DJ butt. LOL

Yes, censorship had always been used as a tool of suppressing dissent during Nawaz's tenure. Sadly, among other things, this is another point he hasn't learned from his past - you can't control a vibrant private media.

While I don't agree with PTI's protest, they do have the right to do so and play loud music if they wish. He should be released.
