UN treaty: Sindh establishes implementation cell

The cell will be chaired by the secretary of law, parliamentary affairs and human rights department.

KARACHI:


The Government of Sindh, with the approval of the chief minister, has established the ‘Treaty Implementation Cell’ in Sindh to develop coordination with the Government of Pakistan.


The cell has been setup in compliance with the UN Convention on Human Rights, of which Pakistan is a signatory.

The cell will be chaired by the secretary of law, parliamentary affairs and human rights department.

Meanwhile, the secretaries of the home, social welfare, women development, health and labour departments will be its members.

The terms of reference will be formulated after consulting all relevant departments for effective implementation.
