MANSEHRA: Four people, including a child, were shot dead in separate incidents across Mansehra district on Wednesday.

The first incident was reported from the village of Jeeya Maira where unidentified assailants opened fire on two friends in a car, killing both of them on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Ibrahim, son of Fareed, and Qadeer. The victims’ families denied having any enemies and were not sure about the motive behind the attack.

In another incident, a minor was shot dead when three intruders barged into his house to kidnap his sister, Yasmeen, 14. Behram Khan told police he was out with his wife when the armed men broke into his house. His nine-year-old son Niaz tried to stop the intruders from entering, but they opened fire and killed the boy on the spot.

The father alleged that Mustajab, Taleh and Said Khan were responsible for the murder of his son.

Lastly, the body of an unidentified man, appearing to be in his 30s, was found from maize fields.

The murder victim was later identified as Omar, son of Muhammad Riaz, a resident of Muradpur. Police said the victim had been subjected to severe torture before being shot dead.
