"Army chief General Raheel Sharif should take notice of elements dragging the army into politics in the current political crisis,” Shah said talking to media representatives in Peshawar.
Further, the leader of the opposition alleged in the past rulers came into power by “riding on the shoulders of the army.”
As the political impasse continues, army has been frequently dragged into speeches by PTI chairman Imran Khan, PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and other parliamentary leaders.
Defending the Pakistan Peoples Party’s stance to uphold the supremacy of democracy and the Constitution, Shah said that their stance will strengthen Parliament for years to come.
“We are fighting for democracy,” the leader of the opposition said.
“Confronting the Parliament means confronting 200 million people of Pakistan,” Shah said, adding, “The people of Pakistan gave their mandate to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.”
Referring to the ongoing talks between the protesting parties and the government, Shah said: “Negotiations are a responsibility of the government.”
“The issue of sit-ins will also be resolved in Parliament,” he added.
Shah also maintained that the government has adopted a flexible attitude towards the protesting parties in order to safeguard democracy and the Constitution.

Amazingly Khurshid Shah is right this time but he forgets that all those persons including himself, at least with is statement, sitting in the Parliament are liable and should be prosecuted the Military way since Khurshid ignored the Court.
@nasir: you are as dumb as the person you admire.
What about 60,000 to 70,000 unverifiable votes? This mandate was not willfully given to Nawaz Sharif by majority of people. He seized the mandate by fraud, massive election rigging, and force. Nawaz Sharif is a tyrant harming and killing people for power and wealth. Shame on you Khursheed Shah. Shame on you Nawaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif and PML(N) are curbing their natural instincts to react and react with force. The last time they did this we had Model Town and that gave a platform for Qadri to invade the capital. By staying passive and letting the institutions like the Army and the Court to deal with IK, they are only frustrating Imran. Confused and confounded he is now desperate and throwing everything in the kitchen sink at Nawaz – who is still smiling and patient. He has also held back all the PML talking heads from saying anything against PTI. Slowly but surely the tide will start favoring the prime minister again. The longer the dharna goes, the weaker IK will get as the public will lose patience and faith in this claims. This is a master strategy at work. Just wait and watch. :)
