Crime scene: Three including a woman shot for resisting robbery

Police said armed men forced entry into Babar Ali’s house in Nisar Colony and held the residents at gunpoint.

More than 24 robbery complaints were filed with city police on Monday-Tuesday. Several people were attacked for resisting robbery.


Police said armed men forced entry into Babar Ali’s house in Nisar Colony and held the residents at gunpoint. They took away cash, gold jewellery, cell phones and other valuable items and fled.

Muhammad Akram, a resident of Chak 421-GB, was deprived of his motorcycle by robbers. They shot at him up for resisting robbery. Doctors treating Akram said his condition was serious.

Police said robbers forced entry into Muhammad Sarwar’s house in Taj Colony, Sargodha Road. The residents raised an alarm over which the robbers shot at them. Sarwar’s wife, Noor Bibi, was seriously injured. She was taken to Allied Hospital where doctors treating her said her condition was critical.

Robbers broke into Muhammad Shahbaz’s shop on Millat Road. Shahid Shaukat’s house in Chak No263-RB and Muhammad Shoaib’s house in Ali Housing Colony were robbed as well.

Robbers snatched motorcycles from Mubarak Ali in Firdous Colony, from Naeem near Al-Fateh Ground, from Qaisar in Chak 4 Ramdewali, from Sajid in Chak 455-GB, from Tanveer on Millat Road, from Shakeel in Rail Bazaar, from Owais and Muazzam near Hariyanwala Chowk, from Bilal near Mujahid Hospital, from Adnan at Montgomery Bazaar, from Haroon and Ehsan near Jinnah Garden and from Kaleemullah in Rehmatabad.

Usman was deprived of his car near Chak 352-GB.

Tariq was shot several times for resisting robbery near Rachna Town. Police said the robbers snatched Rs1 million from him. In a separate incident, robbers held up Iqbal in Peoples Colony 1 and snatched Rs0.5 million from him.
