No respite: Three killed in separate acts of violence

A young man was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Raheem Shah graveyard.

Three people were killed in separate acts of target killings and violence in the city on Monday.


A young man, who was later identified as 25-year-old Haji Muhammad, son of Jannat Gul, was shot dead in an act of target killing near Raheem Shah Graveyard in Orangi Town, within the limits of Mominabad police station. Police officials said that the deceased hailed from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and was shot once in the head by unidentified persons over unexplained reasons. The family of the deceased did not approach the police. The body was shifted to the Edhi morgue after medico-legal formalities were completed at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH).

A private security company's employee was shot dead by unidentified persons near a nullah in Malir locality within the limits of Sharafi Goth police station. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he was later identified as 35-year-old Waqar Khan, son of Khan Gul. Police officials said that the deceased was a resident of the same area and unidentified armed motorcyclists shot and killed him apparently over personal enmity. A case has been registered while further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the body of a young man was found from Manghopir. Area residents informed the police about the presence of the corpse. The body was later shifted to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth, for identification after medico-legal formalities were completed at ASH.
