PML-N MPA Shamim Akhtar's husband found dead in Lahore

MPA says her husband Kabir Ahmed and herself had been receiving death threats

LAHORE: Husband of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Shamim Akhtar was found dead in their house in Lahore, Express News reported on Monday.

In her statement to the police, the MPA said both her husband Kabir Ahmed and herself had been receiving death threats.

Akhtar had attended a wedding last night and upon her return home, she found her 70-year-old husband dead. Police have removed the body from the property and sent it for post mortem at Mayo hospital.

The police said that no torture marks were found on the body so far, and further information will be disclosed following the post mortem.

At present, their neighbour has been nominated in the FIR.
