Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) Operations Manager Dawood Makki said on Friday that the company had taken contingency measures to drain rainwater.
He said the FWMC had appointed 600 workers to drain rainwater in 26 areas of Faisalabad. Makki said 20 dumpers and three excavators had been deployed to cope with any untoward situation. He said 400 raincoats and 400 pairs of gumshoes had been distributed among workers to enable them to discharge their duties effectively. Makki said operations assistant managers, chief waste inspectors and supervisors had been assigned special duties in the monsoon.
FWMC Managing Director Amjad Ali Awan said the company had established a control room at the district coordination officer’s (DCO’s) office to address any complaints. He said special measures had also been taken to make the company’s helpline more effective. Awan praised the worker’s devotion and said the company would handle the situation to the best of its abilities.
