Review: Officials examine results of UAE-Pak joint venture

A meeting was held on Friday to review the jointly-led UAE and Pakistan polio campaign, which began in June in the tribal areas.


According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, representatives of World Health Organization, Unicef, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas were present at the meeting.

Special teams had been formed for the purpose of the drive, and children from militancy-hit areas had been vaccinated, claimed the statement. These included children from North Waziristan now living in DI Khan, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Frontier Region Bannu and Kurram Agency.
