In broad daylight: Robbers flee with Rs15.2 million

The robbers left Rs 6.7 million in the cash-van, which were recovered from the vehicle by the police.

In 16th bank heist of the year, armed robbers stole Rs15.2 million from a cash-van parked outside the Allied Bank Limited’s Sher Shah Branch, after killing a private security guard on Thursday.


The deceased guard was identified as Noor Khan and the police suspect that at least one of the three other private security personnel who were supposed to be guarding the cash-van was involved in the robbery, SSP Shiraz Nazir told The Express Tribune. “One of them went missing after the robbery but we have tracked him down,” he added. The robbers left Rs 6.7 million in the cash-van, which were recovered from the vehicle by the police.
