PESHAWAR:

The skeleton of a man who went missing from Paharipura six months ago was found in Bazid Khel village. He was found buried on rented property on Wednesday.

A Badhaber police official told The Express Tribune that 24-year-old Ibrahim Gul from Orakzai Agency went missing from Paharipura, where he resided, six months ago. “He was reportedly murdered by Sharif and buried inside the accused’s rented house.” The policeman added Gul’s family kept looking for him.

“The accused (Sharif) suspected his wife was having an affair with Gul so he called Gul to his house and shot him dead,” said the official.

Sharif’s wife had quarrelled with him while they were in Hangu after which she told the Hangu police about Gul’s death. The Hangu police then informed Badhaber police about the suspected murder as well as where the body was buried. Badhaber police found the remains buried in the premises of Sharif’s house.

“We found the skeleton and sent it to Khyber Medical College for an autopsy,” said the police official. The family of the deceased has been informed and one of his brothers, Rehman Gul, is the complainant in the case registered against Sharif, added the cop.

Threatening letters

The Pishtakhara police registered an FIR against unidentified culprits for threatening an Afghan refugee with bodily harm via a letter.

Shakirullah, an Afghan refugee, told the police someone lobbed what looked like a box of sweetmeats inside his house. Inside the box, Shakirullah found a hand grenade and a letter supposedly written by the Afghan Taliban.

“Warn your brother Shafiullah to stop working for the Afghan police or he will face dire consequences,” read the letter.

The police lodged a case against unidentified Afghan militants and started investigation.
