Gunned Down: ASI shot dead

HYDERABAD: An assistant sub-inspector identified as Jameel Ahmed Babbur, was shot dead in Jamshoro district’s Kotri tehsil on Wednesday evening. The incident happened near the office of the Sehwan Development Authority and Khuda Ki Basti. SSP Jamshoro Wasee Hyder said that Babbur was in uniform when he was attacked and was shot at six times. The cause of the attack, he added, could not be ascertained. Father of the deceased, Haji Ali Nawaz Babbur, said that his son did not have any enmities and that this was a targeted attack. According to Babbur’s father, his son was appointed as a constable four years ago and was appointed as ASI three months ago. Babbur was posted at the Luni Kot police station, which is located on the Super Highway. He was a resident of Bhitai Colony, Kotri. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.
