Gun attack: Two khasadars shot dead, three injured

Khan died on the spot while the assailants managed to flee.

JAMRUD: Two khasadar personnel were shot dead and three others were injured in a gun attack in Jamrud Bazaar, Khyber Agency on Sunday night. According to line officer Hamid Khan, unidentified gunmen riding in two cars approached a khasadar check post near Bab-e-Khyber around 9:30pm and opened fire at the officials on duty. The shooting resulted in the death of two officials and injuries to three others. The wounded personnel were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar where one of them was said to be in critical condition. Following the attack, security forces launched a search operation in the area, but no arrests were made till this report was filed. In a separate shooting incident, armed motorcyclists opened fire at Shahid Khan, 23, while he was standing outside his house in Sor Kamar at 8pm. Khan died on the spot while the assailants managed to flee. No one has claimed responsibility for either of the attacks.
