KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) top leadership has reiterated it will foil the conspiracy to derail democracy and will strongly defend the democratic system.

These ideas were expressed in a party meeting held on Sunday under the chairmanship of the PPP’s Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Speaking to the participants – including the PPP’s Sindh leadership and lawmakers – the former president said the issues should be resolved through dialogue, not through force.

“The government and the protesting parties should come to the negotiations table to resolve all conflicts,” he said, adding that talks should be pursued in right earnest and be concluded soon.

“If the negotiation process is not taken up with due seriousness then the situation may get out of hand,” he said.

Zardari also urged the protesting parties to show flexibility and the government to find a solution within the constitutional framework. He said the PPP would not support any unconstitutional move.
