Index decreases 0.33% during the week
During review, 14 items register decrease, 7 items increase while remaining 32 remain unchanged
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended August 22 has registered an increase of 0.33% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 208.52 points against 209.20 registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups also decreased 0.36% from 217.61 points in the previous week to 216.82 this week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups inflated 6%. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows — 14 items registered a decrease, 7 items increased and the remaining 32 items remained unchanged.
