LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed on Tuesday ordered forcible retirement of LHC Assistant Registrar Syed Zia Abbas on charges of corruption and misconduct.
An inquiry had found Abbas guilty and had proposed compulsory retirement as a punishment for him. The assistant registrar had also been served with a final show cause notice.
His reply to the allegations was deemed unsatisfactory. Habibullah Amir, a member of the inquiry team, held a hearing on behalf of the chief justice and after hearing the arguments ordered Abbas’s retirement.
Separately, Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed on Tuesday transferred three additional district and sessions judges and six civil judges.
