Govt releases Rs8bn for Operation Zarb-e-Azb

Out of a total of Rs15bn approv­ed for the operat­ion, Rs7 billio­n will be releas­ed by end of August.

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Finance on Monday ordered the Accountant General Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) to release Rs8 billion to the Ministry of Defence for operation Zarb-e-Azb.

A formal letter in this regard was issued by the ministry on Monday following special directives of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The finance minister has already approved Rs15 billion for the operation, with the remaining Rs7 billion expected to be released by the end of the month, a ministry spokesperson said.

The Ministry of Defence had requested to release the amount to aid the ongoing operation.

Govt approves Rs20 billion for power tariff subsidy

Meanwhile, the spokesperson said the Finance Minister had also approved Rs20 billion as tariff subsidy for life-line consumers who use up to 50MW electricity.

The amount has been released to the Ministry of Water and Power for onward distribution to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and independent power producers (IPPs) to improve power generation.

Muhammad nasir | 9 years ago | Reply I am from north wazerstan agency having FDMA registration no 22802 & CNIC NO 2150512933035.I belong from middle class family & I am school teacher. yet I am not reacive any amount that our government give to IDPS.I go to NADRA there a person say that your & your brother family no is same.but my brother has own family & I have my own family having three children,wife and mother. my father died before 10 years. So I kindly requested to all the concerned to help me in this matter.
