Bomb found, defused in Karachi's Orangi Town area

KARACHI: A 12-kg bomb was found in Orangi Town and was defused by the police promptly after its discovery on Sunday morning, Express News reported.

According to SSP Karachi West Irfan Baloch, the bomb was discovered in a rickshaw in the area of Bakra Perhi, after which the Bomb Disposal Squad defused it.

The bomb was reportedly linked to a remote controlled device and if triggered, could have caused massive destruction in the area.

Baloch added that the bomb was hidden in an old school bag and was targeting a police vehicle nearby.
