LAHORE: The Lawyers’ Foundation served a notice to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday for not restraining the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek from taking out a long march in violation of a decision of a full bench of Lahore High Court. The notice says that the LHC had categorically declared the PTI’s and PAT’s marches unconstitutional and it was the duty of the executive to enforce the order in letter and spirit. However, the prime minister failed to discharge his constitutional obligations and the march was held any way. The notice says the march would wreak havoc on the country’s economy.  It says that the prime minister should initiate legal action to ban both parties for defying the LHC order. If the prime minister failed to implement the LHC order with immediate effect, the Lawyers’ Foundation would initiate legal action against him, the notice says.
