Smooth traffic: Qainchi signal-free junction opens

“The nation will not let anyone squander these sacrifices,” the chief minister said.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday inaugurated a signal-free junction at Qainchi on Ferozepur Road. He told the media the project, completed in 170 days, would benefit more than 200,000 motorists daily. It will also help save fuel worth Rs2 billion annually. A U-turn on Ghazi Road and Walton Flyover have been completed at a cost of Rs800 million. The chief minister said the signal-free junction would help resolve traffic problems in the area. He said the expansion of Multan Road and construction of Lahore-Kasur Road and Thokar Niaz Beg Flyover were among the major development projects completed by the government. The chief minister said that the people of Pakistan would reject the so-called revolutions and long marches. “Those calling for the long march and the sit-in want to push the country into darkness. People will reject such forces.” Sharif said Independence Day was celebrated to pay tributes to those who had rendered sacrifices to create Pakistan. “The nation will not let anyone squander these sacrifices,” the chief minister said.
