August 14 planning: IG calls for strict security measures

Sindh IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali has directed police officials to take special security measures throughout the province

KARACHI: Sindh IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali has directed police officials to take special security measures throughout the province, particularly in Karachi on the occasion of the Independence Day. He has directed that strict security measures be near Mazar-e-Quaid, recreational and other public places including schools, colleges and other educational institutions where the Independence Day celebrations will be carried out. Jamali also directed the officers to ensure sweeping of the places by the bomb disposal squad. He ordered for effective security measures to be taken at airports, railway stations, bus terminals, embassies and other locations under threat. Jamali also directed the officers to carry out random snap checking, patrolling and picketing.
