‘Azadi March’: Security plan finalised

The control room will work round the clock.

RAWALPINDI:


Rawalpindi district authorities have finalised security arrangements for the Independence Day, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ‘Azadi March’ and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s youm-e-shuhada.


Rawalpindi District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Daal has set up a control room to monitor the gathering, protests and rallies.


The control room will work round the clock and officials of the police, Special Branch and municipal services will remain present in the control room throughout next week.


CPO  Humayun Bashir Tarrar is supervising the security arrangements and monitoring the overall situation. The government and has prepared a list of likely political leaders to be detained if so ordered.
