"Will he run the country or do his own business," Imran questioned.
While speaking at the inauguration of micro-hydel power station in Matta, Swat, Imran said that new project would provide residents of the area with electricity as cheap as two rupees per unit and there would be no load-shedding.
The PTI chief also questioned why Nawaz chose to produce electricity at Rs14 per unit in Punjab when it was possible to obtain cheaper electricity from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for only Rs8 per unit, alleging that the premier made this decision to line his own pockets.
Imran further claimed that Nawaz had chosen to launch metro bus service in Lahore instead of working on improving education and healthcare in the city as it was more profitable to him.
"People are dying of hunger in the country...so why has the prime minister chosen this project for Lahore," he stated.
The government should be doing things that help "the common man" and poor people, he added.
"I am so glad that today we are doing exactly what the government should do," Imran said, commenting on measures taken by the K-P government.
Imran also announced that in the next 18 months, 386 such hydel-power projects will be started throughout the province.

KP is the province where payment of bill for electricity is a foreign concept. What has IK done for that.?
@Mohsin: Sorry I thought The Constitution of pakistan was amended and this clause was put in. My bad
@Aysha M: This is a country and it is a serious business. Pakistan is not a playground over which you play games. Get real this is not entertainment !!!!
@Mohsin: Who wins the World Cup gets to be the PM. T20 CM
@Adnan Siddiqi: I hope you know what I mean..................;)
@Aysha M: This is considered childish. IK must prove himself worthy of PM. I am disappointed with the KP government performance. Last year budget of Rs. 344b was underspent. How could we delegate the responsibility of whole country in the hands of novice just because he won the world cup. Countries are run by statesman not sportsman !!!
@W: Imran Khan is making a fool of himself. I have distanced myself from my previous support of PTI because Imran just doesn't have the maturity to be a statesman. His use of language, his allegations, his devil may care attitude about disrupting the democratic system in Pakistan and above all his bitterness as a poor loser show he is not fit to lead. I was hoping he would do a great job in KPK, hold the government to account in the opposition and when people tire of PML N at the end of their 5 year mandate, we would vote for Imran Khan- Not more for me! I am now more inclined to support PPP or PML N over this sore loser any time.
IK is an honest man
@JB:
Baseless and unsubstantiated rhetoric! Do you have the proof that Iteffaq Steel was used in Meto? Or did IK come in your dreams to disclose that he personally loaded all that steel in a truck?
KPK first needs to provide electricity to its own people and then worry about selling cheap electricity to the rest of the country. Since you seem like nitpicker, in what capacity is IK inaugurating these projects in KPK? He is just an MNA and holds no position in KPK Government. Didn't he bemoan Nawaz Sharif for doing the same when NS was just a party chairman?
@Mohsin: Of course serious! Its the perk promised to the winning captain, he brings Cricket World cup home, he gets to be the PM of the country
It seems that IK is going to be mad with each passing day. The coal power plants is the initiative of Punjab govt. and it is federal govt who got the approval of Dasu dam from world bank.
@Adnan Siddiqi I am a Lahori. And I have never ever said that the infrastructure developments is a bad thing. But what you and other PMLN supporters fail to realise is that these developments took place at the expense of much more important things-you can go on the Lahore-Karachi motorway all you want; but do you actually like to sit in the sweltering heat of June and July with no electricity? Either that or you are some of the few people who can afford generators. Ask any common man what would he prefer; an electric fans for his toddlers back home or a metro bus. Unfortunately for the PMLN, it is 'what you see' that gets them votes. And try to read the whole news before criticizing. IK said that the 386 hydel projects shall be completed in the next 18 months. And he has never said that the Government was putting hurdles. In fact he said that the Government should buy electricity from KPK which would actually provide relief to the common man. Tell me something; who do you think got the order for the Metro bus? It was Ittefaq Steel? Surprised? Ofcourse not!
@Adnan Siddiqi: If you invite for Karachi why don't you see Lahore which was much better than Karachi or anywhere elese in Pakistan. we acknowledge that M. Kamal did a good job for Karachi but you must appreciate that Shahbaz Sharif did a more lot for Punjab. Punjab was relatively calm, peaceful and progressing but these puppets/touts came and started destabilizing Punjab. What is the credibility of IK or TUQ both are doing politics on "chanda" charity for poors.
@Adnan Siddiqui: if you are talking about over-heads are under-passes .. karachi has plenty of it. infrastructure development is good but priorities should be health, education .. pakistan is a under-develop country. turkey style metro is appreciable but whole istanbul GDP is much higher comparable to punjab or lahore.
I am a PTI Supporter But PTI should not derail the government. Otherwiser we should expect another Martial law for next 10 years
@Mohsin:
I already feel complimented ;)
I confess: I am a darbari and I hate this guy, no matter what he does!
All those who are wearing the shades of bias ought to visit Karachi sometime and they would realize what a blessing infrastructure development and at the same time, these people would loath and bemoan the old geezers who are ruling Sindh at the moment and how they have left one of the metropolis in the world to shambles and in a dilapidated state.
@popsaeed: Perhaps, but the litmus test is to see if their businesses increase tenfold or hundredfold after they are in power, as we saw happened with Mr.Sharif's businesses.
@Adnan Siddiqi: We might give Dharna against you as well..............
Imran Khan really needs to think through his criticism. This is what happens when you have other party rejects as your advisors. From what I am presuming he doesn't listen to them as well.
The Metro Bus Projects and other infrastructure projects initiated by PMLN provide both long term and short term benefits.
In the short term they ignite business activity and create job opportunities. Indirect and direct business and job, opportunities stimulate economic growth. Its just like giving an electric shock to a stagnant heart.
Once the metro bus projects are operational the general public will witness reduction in transportation expense, hence diverting spending from transportation to other avenues such as food, clothing, education, leisure, comfort and health etc. thereby increasing business in other sectors of the economy. The biggest benefit of all is the reduction in fuel import bill of the country hence in net reducing the burden on foreign exchange reserves which is desperately needed.
Health and Education in no way is an alternative to Infrastructure and Development Projects. What good are the people with degrees in their hand when there is no economic activity to employ them. Take example of Sirlanka. If education was the holy grail of economic prosperity then Sirilanka with its 90% literacy should have been the economic power. In the great depression of 1930s, America intentionally started the project of the Hover Dam. Its purpose was to create jobs and economic activity so that the people with degrees can get to work and make a living.
@Aysha M:
You forgot that in the twilight of his career he also build a khairatee Hospital and on the basis of building and operating such a hospital, he wants to become the PM. After all, if building and running a hospital is a benchmark for one to become a PM, why can't someone like Ramzan Chippa also harbor such aspirations? The guy has been serving humanity without discrimination since 1987 and runs the most extensive network of ambulances and social welfare projects after Edhi Foundation. He does all of this with most humility and never glorifies his services rendered for cheap political gains and thrills.
@Aysha M: He won the world cup he should be prime minister........... Are you serious? I agree with the idea of spending on infrastructure, health, education etc........ but is it wise to return budget as unspent. Does it mean KP government was unable to find where to spend it or simply they didn't have sufficient time to spend it.
Imran khan and his party only learned one thing "abuse" others. See the start of this guy, he started agitation right from drones, once that stopped, he started rigging issue, then dissolution of EC now resignation of elected PM. I am surprised on PTI workers why don't they have brain to think about their leader but why they review themselves they blindly follow and starts abusing, I have asked one of my relatives why you abuse NS he simply replied that IK is doing so that's why I am abusing Nawaz Sharif. What one can expect from a party whose leadership itself is morally corrupt, unethical and illmoral.
@JB:
What you have instead failed to realize that infrastructure development, health, education,energy and law and order are province specific issues now. If Punjab has the money, it can choose to do whatever it wants with that money. The same goes for the rest of the provinces. What is stopping PTI government in KPK to build SKMH style hospitals in each and every district of the province? Why can't KPK build Beaconhouse School Systems like educational institutes in the province especially when PTI has within its rank Khursheed Kasuri? Who has put hurdles in the path of KPK government from building those 350 dams or develop its own power generation infrastructure or buy the existing power generation stations from the federal government and then go on to sell electricity @ Rs. 2/Unit? I am sure that the federal government would be more than willing to provide sovereign guarantees in the event KPK government manages to get foreign funding for such projects.
If people of Punjab don't have a problem with infrastructure development, then why are the opponents getting sleepless nights? I for one can't wait to travel by road one day on Karachi-Lahore Motorway.
90 percent of PTI Leaders are businessmen
Even in our country people dying of hunger how can they need security how can they need good transport. first pmln should provide health and after that he think for education when people get both than they need security! so the basic need is health and education not transport! they just make us fool. According to pmln shabaz sharif he said in last night if imran khan proved even 35 million rupees for the project of metro bus service i will resign, he said this because he know they have record of project less than 35 million rupees but its originally invested upto 70 million rupees, you will see them if imran khan will prove their corruption they never pave to resign. because they are lion of corruption.
All i know is that today we saw a very important image of the CM of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa laying foundation stone for the first micro dam with Imran Khan standing on the side and watching on. Imran may not be perfect but he is the best of the available lot by several miles.
Lets do Dharana against him too
If its possible to produce cheaper electricity in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa then who is stopping Imran of Bani Gala Islamabad and his Kpk govt from generating that cheap electricity. He should have done something rather then just talking and blaming.
Feudal lords and tribal chiefs should not be leaders either - and your party has a big chunk of them.
He should be the Prime Minister of Pakistan, after all he won us the World Cup, all by himself, '. . . in the twilight of my career I won the World Cup . . .', so in the twilight of his political career he should be made the PM, and then Pakistan can resume life as usual
I am a darbari and I can't stand this guy!
Now that is how you can trump PML-N and the likes - deliver in KPK and shame the federal government.... not the agitation!
This is what PMLN supporters don't get! Roads and bridges are not bad. WHy would anyone stand against infrastructure. However, the Government fails to prioritise. Education, health, energy and security are waaaaay more important at this stage than the metro bus or ADDITIONAL bridges. Instead of spending billions on road and metro projects; why not use that money for repayment of loans or resolving the energy crisis??? I fail to understand how the metro bus in lahore was more important in Lahore than a power plant!
What about the businessmen in your own party with high party offices? The same point could have been made in a better way, however, as always he has chosen the stupidest statement!
Hahahahahahaha......the guy is a gazetted loco. Examples of a government should exactly do:
1). Sit on the intelligence reports predicting a jailbreak in D.I. Khan 2). 3 sitting MPAs are targeted by suicide bombers yet no attempts were made to catch the culprits since those bandits and thugs are the "brethren" of IK 3). Ensure that Polio goes to become epidemic in Pakistan 4). Provisional government is unable to spend more than 70% of its budget on development in the entire province 5). Promise 350 dams in the entire province and in turn install small 3 kva generators on ponds and irrigation channel instead to produce electricity :D 6). Encourage power theft in the province and refuse to pay bills to WAPDA 7). KPK is burning but yet all focus is on Punjab
The list goes on and on!
Seems to be a joke a power plant of One KW. He was there to inaugurate it.
Health, Education, Corruption, Energy. At least this guy has his priorities right.
Great going PTI! Huge respect to my leader Imran Khan!
