Qadri supporters gather outside his residence in Lahore ahead of Youm-e-Shuhada

Say if their leader is detained then state administration will be responsible for the security situation

LAHORE:
A large number of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters, armed with rocks and sticks, gathered outside party chief Tahirul Qadri's residence and Minhajul Quran secretariat in Lahore's Model Town after Punjab police set up pickets on all roads leading to the buildings, Express News reported on Thursday.

Female workers gathered outside Qadri's residence while mostly male supporters were seen outside Minhajul Quran.

The barriers were placed late last night, hours after a case was registered against Qadri on charges of inciting people to violence, waging war against the state and promoting terrorism.

The party workers said that if their leader was detained then the state administration would be responsible for the security situation.

PAT principal secretary GM Malik had claimed that around 3,000 activists had gathered at the Minhajul Quran secretariat ahead of Youm-e-Shuhada.
