@Whatver: What makes you think the PPPP will win the re-election under new ECP with electronic voting machines? Lolz....
Anyway, remember this... the only functioning, performing government is the one which has a fear of being voted out. And that fear is only instilled if the election process is clean and transparent. No one is afraid of losing their jobs if they know they can always rig the elections to win.
Now this government can be PTI, MQM, PPP, PMLN or whatever, but it MUST be accountable to the people.
@Whatver: You truly reflected my feelings.
@Sara Khan: I agree with you except the last line. Last line should be "IK will do what HE THINKS in the best interest of Pakistan." Because he is honest but can make mistakes as he has made some in the past.
To the best of my knowledge this meeting has not taken place yet
@Iram: I can understand your earnest desire, 'civil dictators' as you call them will have to be eased out of the system which can only happen through negotiations in a comfortable room not out in the open. emotionalism is a thing of past, let it rest now and support IK to gain more for Pakistan through debate and dialogue, let dialects and not mindless drumming lead the way.
Go all out and get rid of these civil dictators.
Birds of the same feather flock together!
@Asad@NYC: Please understand, in all honesty and sincerity I didnt intend to undermine or slight, just expected better of him and play above power politics of Zardaris & Sharifs
@ali ahmed: Kind of you, thanks
its now or never for both these parties so better get united and fight this barbarism
@HMC: regardless of whether the egoist Imran personally meets Maulvi Qadri or not, Sheikh Rasheed is already playing a bridge between the two outrageous Marchers.
@Whatver: dont worry IK will b fine. March is ON !!
@Whatver: Good analysis! Unexpected from a PTI-cult follower.
I supported IK more than any of the other candidates in the past election. I admired his good-will, philosophy and energy. But now he is no different than the current lot. His ambition to derail a democratic process is not only mind boggling, but harbors on the border of lunacy. I guess that fall did affect his mental capacity.
Lets play out the scenarios: 1. Azadi march fails miserably. There is collateral damage and bloodshed. IK will be sidelined forever. 2. Nawaz resigns and new elections are held. The outcome is that a PPP candidate becomes PM. Then what? Another Azadi march? 3. Nawaz resigns and there is confusion in the country. Army has to step in and take control. 4. Azadi march does not happen. Again IK will be side-lined forever.
No matter how IK plays his hand, there will be unintended consequences. There is little chance that fresh elections will lead to IK winning an outright majority. He may become the opposition leader, but what will that accomplish??? IK you are making a big mistake and playing with the lives of innocent individuals and the nation as a whole. IK's responsibility now is to groom a mature party with like minded individuals and fight the next elections. Grabbing power makes IK no different than anyone else.
The Revolution is inevitable when a politician is one who is illiterate and single minded acts worse than dictator, he does not hear, does not find the words to speak, nor participates in the political events. He does not know the cost of life, the price of the pulses, of the milk, of the flour, of the rent, of the daily needs and of the medicine, all depends on political decisions. The political illiterate is so stupid that he is proud and swells his chest saying that he hates poverty and shall make everything number one. The imbecile does not know that, from his political ignorance is born the poverty, corruption, lawlessness and the abandoned children, and the worst thieves of all, the bad politician, corrupted and flunky of the national and multinational companies. It was the time to realize that if we opposition do not look out for the country, these corrupt families are going to ruin Pakistan and it is the time for Azadi Inqlab to take back the people mandate back from these corrupt, fraudulent and thieves so called politicians.
@Aysha M: A true and unbiased analysis covering all aspects of IK .after reading this if someone call ik leader ,he is blind supporter !
Very many like minded forces have to join to defeat this evil corrupt mafia. To this end this is a positive development as both these parties have the same goal to ensure we are finally relieved from the few corrupt families and their servants from plundering this poor country.
The revolution has began. There will be no stopping.
This news is false!! There is no meeting to take place today!!!
@Ayesha ....good expression deep from your heart....i always read your comments
Imran Khan's siasat is about to come to an end. The Master Of Somersaults has made another one. He should be captain of Pakistan's gymnastics team.
IK should know when Opportunity Knocks. He should tie knots with Qadri and bring about the Revolution he craves. Otherwise, Sharifs and others whose defacto interests and privileges he threatens will eat him alive when he stumbles.
I am a staunch PTI supporter and in my opinion, IK should stay away from TUQ, PML-Q, PPP, APML, PML Zia, MQM, ANP, SHeikh Rashid and all old political parties. I am not even sure about Shah mahmood Quraishi and Jehangir Tareen and other lotas. With all honesty JI is only party who can be trusted. People are with PTI because of IK and at the end I am 100% convinced that IK will only do what is in the best interest of this nation.
@Aysha M:
"If Imran Khan were a leader... He could have maneuvered to become the opposition leader, addressed and supported the real issues..."
So bogus voting, nepotism, family dynasty, corruption aint real issues?
Now that's called politics y'all. Thank you IK for showing this card because the government compelled you to "Call." IK knows that he is already in trouble and as a last ditch attempt, he has given up and now banking upon TUQ.
@Ishtiaq: You mean alliance of narcissists and psychotic people against the corrupt people?
@Ayesha Nice analysis
Its just a meeting...dont jump to any conclusions please..!!
The comments always amuses me, most of them are far from ground realities. Let me grab some popcorns. :D
This meeting will not be beneficial for IK. And Govt. succeeded in his plan.
Imran should avoid TuQ as much as possible. TuQ will ruin PTI's campaign
They are digging grave only to burry in it by themselves along with their idea of a fascist state.Shamefull end on the corner!
Time will tell IK that he has made a big mistake. TUL's life is full of mistrust and he will definitely ditch IK. IK should also be aware of Chaudhries of Gujrat who are playing role of conduit between IK & TUL. If they can left alone Musharraf, they can do this to IK also.
Alhamdulillah, In sha Allah it will be a successful meeting for the betterment.
If Imran Khan were a leader and not possessed, he could have easily envisaged a bigger role for deeper and lasting impact building a legacy for himself. He could have maneuvered to become the opposition leader, addressed and supported the real issues which ails governance in Pakistan. Local government is the third tier of governance and the bedrock of democracy, but it didnt receive the much desired attention from PTI and Imran Khan. Agriculture tax/land reforms could actually uproot the deeply embedded evils of feudalism, if an innocent boy's arms were severed, it was actually an outcome of lack of commitment to land reforms. If IK remains indifferent to land reforms, it would simply perpetuate misery of the oppressed. IK could focus on deweaponization, and if he was truly interested in leading the nation, he should have made an example out of Bannu and D.I Khan jail breaks and set precedence and sent out an unequivocal strong message that he stands for the rule of law and nothing else.It would have earned him mass public respect, trust and confidence and a true leader values that much more than votes. If IK were a genuine leader he should have supported struggle for more provinces, which is the only way forward and can prevent disintegration of the country. Unfortunately his petulance and naivety prevented him from being what he could have easily been for Pakistan. Taking to the street is a poor form of politics and more so if the impetus is clearly not informed by higher aims. If there is a leader sitting in you, IK you still have time to show that and call off and get more out of the government now when you are in position of strength than what you can possibly achieve from the march. We need a major overhaul. D chowk or whichever spot will be more of a inhibitor than an enabler. I am an MQM supporter, a proud one too,it is the only form of life I have known, but if you get me a mayor for Karachi, support land reforms, deweaponization, and formation of provinces, hate to say it,but just might develop a soft corner for you, as I would then see you blossoming into a leader as of now you are just a party head, like anybody else. If you deliver, you may become another leader, currently Pakistan has just one genuine altruistic visionary leader
Just cause? agreed the cause is just but the strategy so far seems to be only following the footsteps of Dr. Qadri! he protested of electoral reforms a year ago, IK followed the same footsteps a year later. he did a long march for electoral injustice and illegal constitution of election commission and IK follows the same footsteps a year later. Dr. Qadri joining IK will bring Qadri a few steps back but will also pull IK a few steps forward... Qadri is too forward for the nation and IK is too behind in his strategy! both joining may find the necessary balance to take masses together towards what i believe are similar objectives.
two self centered nuts in a pod....recipe for a major implosion.....
At least govt succeeded to make it happened. Now Imran Khan politics finish! let 14 August finish and see the results.......
A good step by both leaders, they need to get united against the corrupt rulers.
Imran is best advised to stay away from TuQ. Joining hands with him will malign an otherwise just cause which unifies most of Pakistan.
