The deceased was identified as a teenager called Jagmot Singh and the injured, who are in critical condition, were identified as Manmit Singh and Param Singh.
They were taken to Lady Reading Hospital for medical treatment.
The assailants opened fire around 10am when the three of them were opening Manmit's cosmetic shop in Shabab Markat in the Hashtnagri area of Peshawar.
Members of the Sikh community gathered at the hospital to protest against the incident.
Just before noon, family members of the victims as well as other members of the Sikh community also blocked GT Road near FC Headquarters Balahisar Fort, placing Jagmot's body on the road to protest against the attack.
Tyres were also burned during the protest.

It is sad and it is always sad one any human being is killed may be from any community. Sikhs living in Pakistan are citizens of Pakistan and their Govt will see how to protect their citizens please don't spread hatred by giving comments which have no relavence to the news.

It is a failure of KPK Government to maintain law & order in the province and it should immediately resign. @abdulrauf akhtar: The Pakhtuns have no quarrel with non muslims too; they have lived in an integrated society for centuries and they not only included sikhs but christians and hindus too. Pakhtunwali has been the hall mark of all communities from Peshawar to Kabul, Qandhar and Waziristan and beyond. Let the KPK elected Government make their prime task to restore the gone peace in the land among all residents. The Sharif brothers have lost their credibility in the country and better stay away from the affairs of Pakhtuns.

@Rex Minor: Do you even know the demographics of so called Pukhtun territory. Lower parts and Kohistan are mixed regions?. I am pretty sure you never lived in Pakistan or even you are a Pakistani. Do you know tribes such as Gujjar and Arains are living in North West regions even before the influx of Pukhtoons in large numbers. In many regions tribes such as Abbasis, Kayanis, Mirs, Sardars and Awans outnumber others and they as locals as anyone else. In 1800s Gujjars formed the largest group in Swat and Pukhtoons moved afterwards. Still around 15 percent population of Swat have Gujjar ancestry. Similarly there are tons of regions in North west where Pukhtoons are in a minority. In Kohistan, Chitral, Hazara division the Pukhtoon population is smaller than others. No once can told Non Pukhtoon that they are outsiders because they are the original inhabitants of this land and historians told about the existence of Non Pushtoon tribes even before the existence of Pushtoons in many North West regions.
The news item does not say the reason behind the attack. It could have been the result of some personal feud. Sikhs and Hindus are living in Peshawar but common people are the favourite targets of the terrorists.

@Hmm i have seen many Pakistani Hindus, sikhs living in dirt poor conditions in NCR. Even Rohingya Refugees are living in better conditions. Dont you read Delhi News? No one wants to give them a proper job in nearby Industrial Hubs & you know why? because they are Pakistani(No matter which sect or religion they belongs). Indian Government & authorities do not favor to sikhs, shias, Hindus, Chritians, Hope that scenario will change in near future just because of BJP. It will open up their minds about Pakistan society, the people the overall perspective will be cleared, as there was very little news about Pakistan in the Indian media, a bit concocted also. Also I found the comments and the counter comments interesting which at times are very informative as we in Pakistan also came to know about India and its people. There are many similarities in the culture including music, art, the family values and above all the Language, Language is the common denominator. It seems that an Indian in Mumbai can relate to Pakistani music and tele serials more than with a person in Kerala, or say in Ladakh or Assam.
