HYDERABAD: The chief of the Milli Yakjahti Council (MYC), a grouping of major sectarian groups and political parties, has disapproved of Allama Tahirul Qadri’s call to take the law into his own hands, terming the act hypocritical. In a press statement, the council’s head Sahibzada Al Khair Muhammad Zubair said the Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s chief had openly allowed his workers to kill 15 law enforcers to avenge the deaths of 15 of his party workers during the Model Town incident. “Qadri’s policy of double-standards is very surprising for the people,” said Zubair, who is also president of Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Pakistan. He also criticised Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz’s government for failing to address issues of poverty, unemployment, inflation and energy and for failing to deal politically with the protest movements aiming to overthrow the government.
