Anti-encroachment: CDA tears down illegal structures

An anti-encroachment operation has been initiated by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) against illegal structures and other encroachments in violation of CDA Zoning Regulations.


A press release quoted CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal as saying that the operation against illegal and unauthorised farmhouses and housing societies would run alongside an operation against non-conforming use of property, which started ahead of Eid.


A CDA team demolished illegal structures in areas around Margalla Avenue and Shah Allah Ditta.


During the operation, the anti-encroachment team closed and dismantled unauthorised approach roads which lead to illegally-established housing societies and farm houses in Pind Sangriyal, adjacent to Sector D-12. The anti-encroachment team also took prompt action illegal sale points for sand and crushed stone established on a green belt in Sector E-11. In addition, crops planted by locals on CDA land have also been removed and the land has been retrieved.
