Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Postgraduate Medical Institute Principal Dr Anjum Habib Vohra on Sunday ordered an inquiry into the alleged swapping of an infant at the facility.
A committee has been constituted under Professor Farrukh Zaman to look into the incident. The principal said the record of all cases dealt with in the labour room was available.
He instructed the emergency ward director and nursing superintendent to ensure that all officials present on Saturday recorded their statements before the committee. The principle said no official from the gynecology ward had been made a member of the committee to ensure transparency and impartiality.
