Monsoon In Balochistan: Mudslide claims man’s life

A man was killed and four others injured in various rain-related incidents

Heavy showers lashed the industrial town of Hub and the southern stretches of Balochistan on Saturday, heralding the start of monsoon rain in the province, Daily Express reported. A man was killed and four others injured in various rain-related incidents. A mudslide in Shah Noorani claimed the life of a man identified as Sajid, a resident of Agra Taj Colony of Karachi. Sajjid’s companion was seriously injured. In another incident, three men were injured when the motorcycle they were riding skidded in the same area. Strong winds uprooted four power pylons outside Hub town in addition to roofs of many huts. Moreover, scores of mud-houses were damaged in the heavy downpour. According to reports, torrents have damaged a bridge on the National Highway near Bella, a town close to Karachi. Until last reports, traffic was suspended on the stretch of road that connects Karachi with Balochistan.
