Four suspects, namely Sabina Karim, Robina Kausar, Memoona Akhtar and Muhammad Awais, were granted bail till November 22.
These accused filed an Intera Court Appeal before the LHC in which they asked for cancellation of the terrorism charges levied against them after Adnan went missing in 2008.
According to the details, Zahida Parveen, mother of Adnan, had claimed that Memoona Akhtar and others were behind kidnapping of her son, who was still missing.
While talking to The Express Tribune, she said that her son was a student of Mechatronic Engineering (BCS) at Taxila University, Chakwal campus. She said that these people kidnapped him and sent him to the tribal areas.
She further said that after the incident, the accused had sent a letter to her stating Adnan was “martyred” in an encounter. “But, I did not believe them. I asked them to give me proof of his death,” she said. However, Memoona along with other accused denied these claims.
Later she filed a case against the suspects in the sessions court for recovery of her son. She maintained that these people had kidnapped her son and were not disclosing his location.
The accused then filed a bail petition before the LHC, which was countered by a bail cancellation appeal from the victim’s mother. Perveen claimed that her son was alive and was currently in Miranshah.
Muhammad Adnan went missing on October 10, 2008. Later his parents lodged an FIR against these four persons at Sabzi Mandi Police Station.
