Four people lost their lives and three others sustain injuries in different incidents across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday, police sources told The Express Tribune.
According to police, a woman, identified as Zaitoon Bibi, drowned in Jagran River in Neelum Valley, some 70km from here. The woman was washing clothes on the bank of the river when she suddenly fell into the water which swept her away. Her body was later recovered near Kundalshahi.
A driver lost his life when his jeep fell into a deep ravine while negotiating a sharp curve near Rajpaian in Kohodi, some 15km from here. The driver, identified as Noor Hussain, died on the spot.
In another incident a driver was killed and three passengers were injured when rolling stone hit their van.
They were on way from Ghari Dupatta to Muzaffarabad when a falling stone hit the windscreen of the van near Majohi, some 12km from here, killing the driver Hammad Farooq on the spot while injuring the passengers.
The injured were shifted to Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences.
Meanwhile, a man died after falling down from a rock in Choon area of Pataykha, some 20km from here.
According to police Ghulam Rasool, 65, of Choon, Nooraseri Tehsil was heading a nearby forest with the
flock of sheep when he tumbled down a deep gorge and died.
