Violence in Karachi: Five injured as attackers target bus headed for rally

KARACHI:

Three female and two male participants of the rally were wounded when armed assailants targeted a bus carrying female participants of the rally in Mehmoodabad.

The firing incident took place near Fine House, Sharae Faisal, within the limits of the Tipu Sultan police station, when the participants of the Al-Quds rally were on their way to join the main rally on MA Jinnah Road. Three buses - two carrying male participants and one carrying female participants - were on their way to join the main rally when at least four armed men on two motorcycles fired indiscriminately at the participants.

As a result, three female participants and two male ones, who were riding along with the buses on motorcycles, were wounded. The injured were immediately taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment. The attackers managed to escape the scene but one of them was later caught during a search operation in Mehmoodabad.
