Beefing it up: Strict security arrangements ordered

KARACHI:


Sindh police Acting IG Ghulam Haider Jamali has ordered strict security measures for religious gatherings and rallies on the occasion of Youmul Quds, Jumatul Wida and all the odd nights during the last 10 days of Ramazan.


Jamali directed the officials to increase patrolling of commandos and district police contingents in sensitive areas, snap checking at entry and exit points of the city and raise the level of intelligence collection at district levels.

He also called for effective coordination between provincial and federal law enforcement authorities in order to avert any untoward incident.

Jamali directed officials to ensure security of religious scholars and clerics, and parking lots of mosques and imambargahs. He also directed to bar any parking on the route of Youmul Quds rallies.
