ISLAMABAD: The investigation officer (IO) in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) corruption case appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Court on Wednesday and confirmed that he signed the investigation report. Earlier, the lawyer of one of the main suspects in the case, Aqeel Kareem Dhedhi, had objected to the authenticity of the report, claiming that the report produced before the court was not original as the signature on it was false. NAB IO Waqas also produced the report that he has signed before the court and rejected the allegations of the defence lawyer. NAB prosecutor Raja Khurram argued why objections were not made over the report when litigation was initiated. “The case has been in the court for the last three months so why were the objections not made in the start,” he questioned. The court later adjourned the case till August 28.
