PESHAWAR:

A police constable was gunned down in a targeted attack in Shah Qabool while a Badhaber DSP was injured a separate assault there on Wednesday.

Frontier Reserve Police Constable Muhammad Alam Khan was on guard duty near the shrine of Shah Qabool when he was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle who managed to escape, said a police official. “It is without doubt a target killing,” the official added. Alam was a resident of Umarzai, Charsadda.

Separately, Badhaber DSP Abid Rehman was injured when militants ambushed his vehicle on Frontier Road, near the border of Akka Khel, Khyber Agency in the afternoon.
