KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has nominated Ziauddin University’s chancellor, Dr Asim Hussain, to resolve the issues between Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed and the department’s secretary, Iqbal Hussain Durrani. The three are expected to meet on Monday to try and resolve the differences between the two officials. PPP wants the issues to be addressed immediately since it may affect the ties between the PPP and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan also called on Dr Ahmed and Durrani on Friday but failed to resolve their differences. On the one hand, Dr Ahmed maintains that he is not consulted for any major decision in his department, including transfers and postings and the bifurcation of the department. On the other hand, PPP sources claim that Dr Ahmed is not approving orders and schemes that were approved before he was even appointed as the minister.
