Once approved, Allauddin will relieve Jehanzeb Khan, who was posted as the finance secretary in June 2013 and given the additional charge of additional energy chief secretary on November 4, 2013. Allauddin is a BS-20 officer in the Pakistan Administrative Service.
A Services and General Administration Department official told The Express Tribune that Allauddin was recently interviewed by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for the post of finance secretary. He has previously served as deputy secretary, additional secretary and special finance secretary.
He said a summary seeking Allauddin’s appointment had been sent to the chief minister for approval.
Once the approval is received, Alluddin will be posted as the finance secretary, relieving Khan of the post. Khan will continue to work as the additional energy chief secretary.
Separately, the government has decided to replace Planning and Development Board Secretary Arif Anwer Baloch, who will be posted as an administrative secretary. Excise and Taxation Director General Naseem Saddiq is slated to be transferred and posted as the Faisalabad commissioner.
