FAISALABAD:

A case was registered against seven policemen on Tuesday for beating a woman and robbing cash and jewellry from her home.

A sessions court had directed the Tarkhani police to register the case on Monday.

Shamshad Bibi, a resident of Chak 138-GB, earlier filed a petition in the court, claiming ASI Aslam and six other policemen forced their way into her home on June 7 and beat her up. “The policemen also took away cash and jewellry from my house and threatened me with dire consequences if I told anyone about the incident,” she said.

She said she had informed the Tarkhani police about the incident, but no action was taken against the policemen.

After hearing the petitioner, the court directed the Tarkhani police to register a case against the policemen and submit a copy of the FIR in the court.

No arrest has been made so far.
