HYDERABAD: A police constable was killed in an armed attack by unidentified assailants on Friday night as police continue to be targeted in the city. Shahid Bashir, 45, who is posted at the Fort police station, was shot six times in the attack carried out in the Liaquat Colony area in the limits of Sakhi Pir police station. According to the SHO, Bashir was returning after meeting his friends when two assailants riding a motorbike opened fire. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Hyderabad from where he was referred to Karachi. However, according to Sakhi Pir police station SHO, Badar Buriro, an FIR is yet to be lodged. As many as 10 policemen have been killed and around half a dozen injured in Hyderabad in seven separate attacks in less than two months.
