Delegation in China: Roadmap for trade corridor projects

The visit is a follow-up on progress of energy and infrastructure projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

A Pakistani team aided by their Chinese hosts began devising a roadmap for faster execution of trade corridor projects during a series of meetings on Tuesday.


According to a press release, the visit is a follow-up on progress of energy and infrastructure projects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).  The team is co-led by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.


With reference to their mode of financing, Iqbal said almost all the groundwork, including land acquisitions, policy interventions, etc, has been finalised.


The minister said that projects in the energy sector will help Pakistan overcome its energy crisis and boost economic growth.

He shared that ever since the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), tangible progress has been achieved by translating the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Premier Li Keqiang into tangible projects.
